We spent a few hours at the lake today (Memorial Day). I absolutley love going to the lake. Last year we were not able to get up there at all since we were still living in IL but you bet we were ready to buzz up there the first day of lake season this year! Brennen is old enough to really enjoy it now. This was his first time at a lake and his first time on a boat. Getting him used to wearing a life jacket was a little rough but once he realized it was not coming off no matter how mad he got he gave up and got used to it. The water was freezing still but we did venture as far as sticking our feet in. The cold did not bother Bren much, he was ready to jump in, but I am going to give it a few weeks to warm up before I have guts to get in to help him. He is my boy, always ready to swim!
Ammi was willing to let Brennen help drive the boat. Oh what fun he had! He got to steer and push buttons, endless ammounts of fun. At the end of the outing he had to get down out of the seat so that Ammi could dock the boat and you would have thought the world was crashing down, for the tragedy of the boat running and him not steering it was horrible...but luckily before long he could reclaim his spot in the captains chair and continue to enjoy the rocking boat.
