We had a wonderful Easter this year! We began our day with church where Brennen sat through his first church service. He threw a temper tantrum in the nursery so we let him sit with us in the sanctuary and he did REALLY well! We were pleasently suprised! Then after service we stopped by the park so that he could get all those built up wiggles out since he sat so patiently for an hour and twenty min. After the park we went home and Brennen went to his room for "rest time". While he was resting the Easter Bunny stopped by. I didn't think Bren would understand the concept of the Easter Bunny since he didn't catch on to Santa this past year but when I told him that the Easter Bunny that we visited at the mall came by and brought him a suprise, he bolted from his room yelling "what is it, what is it". He enjoyed opening his basket but the real fun came in hunting for eggs. He had a ball looking for his baseball and soccer ball eggs. After finding all the eggs he sat down to open them. Half had coins and the other half had jelly beans. Money and candy are two of his favorite things so needless to say he couldn't open those eggs fast enough! He had every jelly bean in his mouth in 30 sec flat with a pile of coins next to him. Too fun!!
We quickly flowed right into playing with the new things Brennen got in his basket which included a bubble gun and rocket balloons!! I am not sure who enjoyed these more, Brennen or Anthony and I?? Either way we had a blast together blowing bubbles and shooting off balloons!!
After that excitement, we started dinner and colored eggs (yes we waited till Easter day to color them). While dinner was cooking we decided to get a little more fresh air and take a walk to the park and fly a kite. Ok, we actually needed out because Bren was bouncing off the walls from all the jelly beans, but none the less we headed out. We flew a kite, played at the park and enjoyed the beautiful Easter Sunday.
We finished up a perfect holiday with a fabulous meal that Anthony and I prepared together (a rarity). I really enjoyed this Easter. It was the first one that Anthony did not have to work so it was special to be able to spend it together and be able to attend church together on my favorite holiday.
