Extending the family
We are hoping to add a family member to our home in the next few weeks!! He is a 4 yr old Shepard-Beagle Mix (not going to lie, he is a complete mutt). He weighs in at 40 lbs and its ALL in the center LOL. He has short little legs and a big round center making him absolutely adorable! He has beautiful soft golden-red fur that makes you never want to stop petting him. He is kind and gentle and loves to love on you!! He was a shelter dog who was temporarily adopted by the Vet school here in town. They have had him for 6 months. One of Anthony's co-workers is a student there and she has gotten to know the dog really well so we have a really good idea of his personality, medical history and habits. This is a total plus in adopting a shelter dog!! He has completed his 6 months at the school and would end up back at the shelter if not adopted :( so we submitted our application for him and are waiting to hear that everything is good!! The nice part about getting him through the school is that not only have they observed his behavior for us, but they have taken excellent medical care of him (he has no health issues!!) he is up to date on all shots, he comes already chipped and he is free for adoption!! So we will be getting him with zero upfront expenses. OK, other then all the things that we will buy to spoil him!!! We are sooooo very excited to once again welcome a dog into our home! We miss Auggie so much and it has always felt to me like no dog would ever be as great, but this lovable guy sure made my heart melt from the moment we met him. I know he will fit right in to that spot in our hearts reserved for our four-legged furry family members!
