This week

Well we have had a fun, exciting and challenging week. We will start with the fun.... aside from spending a lot of time at the pool we have ventured into painting. Bren caught on quickly and really enjoys it. He is not much for coloring but painting has so much more of a visual impact and has that "wow look at that color" instant gradification that he really likes it! We started with sidewalk paint and then painted a picture for Anthony for fathers day. Our patio is like a giant work of art right now, paint everywhere! Way fun! And as for the exciting he has started his summer programs. Last week we began Animal Adventures where the animal of the week was doggies. They did crafts, games, songs, a story and a snack all related to dogs. This week is monkey's. And tomorrow he starts his art class Icky Sticky. I will let you know how that one goes.

On the challenging subject we are moving to a toddler bed this week. He is actively climbing out of his crib like the monkey he is and so it is on to the big boy bed we go. We set it up the night before last and wanted him to have some time to explore it and understand it as we start the transition. So when he got up on Mon morning there it was in the living room like a big surprise. So in an attempt to make this new bed a big deal we had "breakfast in bed" (in the living room). He had a ball. He ate then layed down and pretended to sleep and made the fake snore sound that came out something like "haw-choo haw-choo". We moved it into his room that night. Today he layed on it and read and of course jumped when I wasn't looking so tomorrow is the big day where we start sleeping in it. I will let you know how it goes too. As soon as he is adjusted to the change we are redecorating his room. He is all boy and his room should reflect it. His new bedding is MLB and of course we will have White Sox accents!!! He loves to watch and play "baball" aka baseball.

We also got rid of the high chair. He will be sitting at the table with us during family dinner now and I got him his own little table and chairs for breakfast and snack time. He loves it, all day long he kept saying ... table, table (it's a new word for him). And for our final challenge of the week he is REALLY testing his boundries right now so Anthony and I are really being tested on our patience and parenting skills. He is strong-willed and is proving that his attitude is as strong as his personality. I am a firm believer in creative discipline so I have had to really think on my toes lately. But with all the changes going on it should prove to get more interesting by the day! Stay tuned boys and girls the fun is just beginning!!
